How I Became a Professional Photographer

Hi, I’m Jayne and I am a Hampshire Photographer with a passion for marine life. My life today as a professional photographer is about as far removed as it could be from where I once was!I had a stressful IT job in London and spent years travelling from the South Coast of England up to London and around the country. It felt like I was constantly on a hamster wheel of wake up, travel, work, travel, work, repeat with very little sleep and a whole heap of stress.

Newborn Photoshoot for Gorgeous Arlo!

Little baby Arlo was a lockdown baby. While this meant his mummy was able to keep him safe at home through the pandemic he was unable to have his newborn photoshoot as planned. I think you will agree though it was definitely worth the wait. Arlo was 4 months at his photoshoot in the woods and it seems he was a perfect age.

Beautiful Sunset Dancers

Property Photography Portsmouth

This penthouse was an amazing photography commission. Treadgolds in Portsmouth is steeped in history. From 1809 onwards the building was adapted to form an ironmongers and steelworks. The original wheel is still in the eaves of this wonderful property and is visible along with all the original beams, these are a huge feature in every room.

Pivoting in a Lockdown

Wow what a few months we have all experienced! None of us could have predicted the world coming to almost a complete stand still… This got me thinking how do you carry on and survive as a business when you cant go out… Being a small new business I couldn’t claim from the government as I didn’t have 3 years accounts, but I felt incredibly lucky that I was small enough to Pivot.

Rachel & Jason’s Maternity Celebration

On a crisp Spring morning I met Rachel (8 months pregnant), Jason and Brody the British bulldog to create some memories in the Hampshire countryside. Rachel looked gorgeous in a fitting pink dress and a lovely neat bump, while Jason looked dashing in his suit jacket and jeans, but it was Brody that tried to steal the show!

Art Themen at Coastguard Studio

Jazz, like surgery, requires attentive precision. It’s unsurprising, then, that the legendary Art Themen has led a half-century career as a sharp-minded orthopaedic surgeon and a smooth-souled saxophonist!
